Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Designer

Collaborate with cross-functionalteams—including electrical circuit designers, packaging engineers, and externalvendors—to ensure seamless integration of PIC and electronic integratedcircuits (EIC).

Design and simulate photonicdevices (e.g., edge couplers, phase shifters, Mach-Zehnder interferometers, ring resonators, splitters/combiners) to meet system performance requirements.

Utilize standard photonics designtools (e.g., GdsFactory, KLayout) to perform efficient PIC floor planning, device placement and tuning, design rule checks (DRC), and version control.

Drive tape-out planning with astrong focus on meeting project timelines.

Create and maintain engineeringdocumentation, including design specifications and test plans.

Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and cross-functional meetings to ensure product reliabilityand manufacturability.

We are seeking an experienced Integrated Photonics Circuit (PIC) Designer to design, simulate, and optimize advanced photonic devices—including edge couplers, phase shifters, Mach-Zehnder interferometers, ring resonators, and splitters/combiners—to meet high-performance system requirements. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams such as electrical circuit designers, packaging engineers, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of PICs with electronic integrated circuits (EICs). You will use industry-standard photonics design tools (e.g., GdsFactory, KLayout) for floor planning, device placement, tuning, and design rule checks, while driving tape-out planning to meet project deadlines. Additional responsibilities include creating engineering documentation, participating in design reviews, conducting risk assessments, and contributing to product reliability and manufacturability.
